Home & Projects
Collaboration with the Royal Bank of Scotland, other professional designers and a variety of civic and academic stakeholders in order to deploy, utilise and evaluate the company’s emerging design research model and its capacity to develop future-based scenarios that inform the company’s strategic shift from transactional to experiential financial services.
Project by Jakub Zahor & Dominika Świerad
Four weeks of research, interviews, branch visits and workshops generated a research database that was developed into a set of research cards using S.T.E.P..
FROM RESEARCH TO A METHOD
The goal of the project was to develop the research into a method. The first step was to adopt a modular format, and offer a creative approach with alternative experience-focused categories.
The research informed the development of ‘future customer’ profiles. Each customer was given basic banking data supported by work and personal life stories, favourite brands or ‘guilty pleasures’ to indicate their personality and motivations. The aim was to develop the customers to be inspiring and informative tools, not definitions. For that purpose illustrations were prioritised over images.
WORLD OF DATA EXPERIENCES
Bringing together the research and the future customers creates a tool for brainstorming future-based data related scenarios. The research is given the same illustrated aesthetic and developed into tactile physical cards inspired by board-game elements.
The entire project is summarised in the project book, icluding user-testing session data, research summary, methodology and design directions.
